On June 25th, Prak-sis opened its doors to welcome guests, friends, and art enthusiasts for Singaporean jewelry designer Regina Wong's American debut.
While attending the International Affordable Arts Fair in Singapore this past April, Prak-sis CAA's Executive Director, Mi-Yeon Kwon, met patron Regina Wong, whose beaded jewelry mesmerized her.
Ms. Kwon learned that Wong, a skilled craftswoman, had never before considered selling her ornate works, even though they regularly garnered compliments. Their partnership blossomed when Ms. Kwon’s flight back to the US was cancelled and Wong kindly offered Ms. Kwon a room in her home for the night. The two stayed up late planning how they could introduce Wong to a larger audience.
Since this trip, Prak-sis CAA has cultivated a close relationship with Wong and has been proud to showcase her dazzling jewelry. Responses to Wong's work have been overwhelmingly positive and Prak-sis will continue to sell these pieces. They are on display in the Prak-sis/GACI Gallery and can be viewed through appointment by calling 773-715-4171.
