

Surajit Biswas
Surajit Biswas currently resides in Bengal, India. He received both his B.F.A. and M.F.A. from Visva Bharati University in Santiniketan, West Bengal. His work has been featured in several exhibitions, most recently Emami Annual Exhibition in Kolkata in 2016, a Group Show in Ganges Art Gallery in Kolkata in 2016 and a Group Show in Ahmedabad in 2015. He has also received awards from National Dance and Painting Competition in Baroda, Gujarat in 2014 and Emami Chisel Annual Exhibition for Drawing in 2014.
Biswas’ drawing-based works are figurative as well as non-figurative, often oriented around the physical and metaphysical sensations in an effort to understand the melody of life. His subject matter is inspired from his daily experiences and his focus on capturing life, movement and rhythm. His work often includes his seemingly abstract representation of minute details and has evolved to embrace 3D materials that embody the relationship between space, form and sound.
